Multiple Class C Hosting Myth Revisited

Can hosting your sites on multiple class c IP's with the same provider really reduce your risk of getting penalized by Google?

If that were really the case don't you think the SE would also detect that the Class C's, even though from different Subnets are still also part of the same AS (ASN - Autonomous System Number) ?

This is simply not true. The reality here is that Web Hosting Providers created this false claim in order to sell you more IP's at a premium thus making more money off the false idea that google smacks PR based on locale.

Do you even realize the collateral damage that would result if google really did this? You do realize that literally thousands of SEO's host at various popular web hosts, all on the same group of IP's, servers, subnets and AS's.

That said, it stands to reason that if google penalized sites for being on the same IP, they would likely end up penalizing sites that were not even related to one another but just happened to be hosting on the same IP and or netblock as other SEO hosted sites.

I'm here to tell you as a web host, that spreading sites out among different IP's on different class c's makes absolutely NO difference whatsoever to google or any other SE for that matter. They simply do not care.
